How To Choose A Suitable Jib Crane For Industrial Construction

If you work in the construction industry, you already know how important it is to have the right equipment. Working with high-quality equipment that is specifically designed for the job that you are doing not only is the most efficient option but it also is important from a safety standpoint.

One piece of equipment that you may need to invest in for your business is a jib crane (giratoria grúa). These cranes have a horizontal arm that swings out in a circle. This arm is either attached to a vertical post that extends upward from the ground or it is attached to a wall.

The amount of rotation that the arm can achieve depends on the type of crane. For instance, with a wall-mounted jib crane, the arm can only rotate approximately 180° to 200° since the wall interferes with its path of motion. With a floor-mounted jib crane (pluma de columna), on the other hand, the arm can usually rotate a full 360°  as long as there is nothing else in its way.

On the arm, there is a trolley with a hoist attached to it. The trolley can move back and forth across the entire length of the arm. Between the forward and backward motion of the trolley and the spinning motion of the arm, these cranes provide a lot of flexibility in terms of where you can move a particular load. In essence, the load can be picked up and moved to any location that falls below the path of the arm.

If you are trying to find a suitable jib crane for industrial construction, there are some important considerations to keep in mind. One of the most important considerations is the overall weight capacity of the crane. Identify the maximum weight that you plan on lifting. Then, make sure that you buy a crane that is capable of handling at least that much weight. That way, you won’t have to worry about overloading it.

The height of the crane is also important. It needs to be high enough above the ground that the loads that it is carrying can easily be lifted wherever they need to go. For instance, if you are going to be using the crane to load items onto trucks, it needs to be tall enough to raise each load higher than the sides of a standard truck.

You also need to decide whether you want a wall-mounted crane or a freestanding crane. If you have enough money in your budget and enough room, a freestanding crane provides more flexibility since it can rotate a full 360°. If you are looking for a more affordable option, on the other hand, a wall-mounted crane (grúa de pared) may be a good choice. Although these cranes don’t rotate as far as freestanding cranes, they are a lot less expensive.

Finally, when choosing a jib crane for industrial construction, be sure to think about the quality of the crane. Using cranes can be dangerous – especially if the crane is poorly made. It is worth paying extra to buy a high-quality crane from one of the industry’s leading manufacturers.
